Never Tanned Before?
Welcome. We will gladly take you through each step of the process so that you feel comfortable.
- You will be asked to read and sign our client release and informed consent form.
- Complete our one-page questionairre answering simple questions about your skin.
- Purchase your tanning minutes at our reception desk in the hair salon.
- Tell the receptionist how many minutes you would like to use in today's session. You will be assigned a tanning booth and the time limit will be initialized on that booth for your tanning session.
- Lock the door in your private tanning booth and disrobe in complete privacy. Put on your protective eye goggles, make any adjustments to the radio and air conditioning, to make your session comfortable.
- Push the button to start the session. Note: No minutes will be used until you are completely ready and you push the button to start your tanning session.

If you are under 18, you are required to have a signed parental or guardian consent form on file to use the tanning facilities.
The first time, you must come with your parents or guardian so that we can witness their signature. No permission notes will be accepted.

Informed Consent Form
To save you time when you visit Chateau Tanning Salon, we've included the text here from our client release and informed consent form:
1. We recommend sensible, moderate and responsible exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR). OVEREXPOSURE CAN CAUSE ERYTHEMA (SUNBURN)!
2. PLEASE FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS regardng the operation of all tanning equipment. The proper procedure to follow in the tanning room will be clearly explained by the attendant. Please feel free to ask any questions or to voice any concerns that you might have before starting to tan.
IF YOU DO NOT DEVELOP A TAN IN THE SUN, YOU ARE UNLIKELY TO TAN FROM THE USE OF THE TANNING DEVICES AT THIS TANNING SALON
3. AVOID OVEREXPOSURE. As with natural sunlight, overexposure can cause eye and skin injury and allergic reactions. Repeated overexposure may cause photoaging of the skin, dryness, wrinkling and (sometimes fatal) skin cancer. We recommend that you do not tan outdoors on days you are tanning indoors, do not tan if you have a sunburn and tan no more often than every other day.
4. WEAR PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR. Failure to wear protective eyewear may result in severe burns or long-term injury to the eyes. We recommend that you remove contact lenses before tanning.
I have read the contents of this consent form carefully and state that I am not aware of any medical condition or other reason that would prohibit me from tanning. I understand that while I will not be allowed to exceed the maximum allowable time posted on the sunbed I will use, my skintype/subtype, tanning history and level of existing base tan may allow me to tan longer than the posted schedule and I do so at my own risk. I have been given adequate instructions for the proper use of the tanning equipment, understand the risks involved and I do so at my own risk. I hereby agree to release the owners, operators, manufacturers, distributors, and any governmental agency from any damages that I might incur due to the use of this tanning facility.
